CSS is a style sheet language used for describing the presentation of web pages.
CSS stands for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS allows you to specify various style properties for a given HTML element such as colors, backgrounds, fonts etc.
A CSS rule consists of a set of style rules that are interpreted by the browser and then applied to the corresponding elements in the document.
A CSS selector is a pattern to match the elements in an HTML document. The associated style rules is applied to the elements that match the selector pattern.
The CSS color property defines the foreground color for an element.
CSS background properties are used to define background styles for the elements.
The CSS font properties allows you to set various styles for fonts likes font family, size and boldness, variant, etc. of a text.
CSS text properties allow you to define several text styles such as color, alignment, spacing, decoration, transformation etc. very easily an effectively.
A link or hyperlink is a connection from one web resource to another.
The list properties used to control the presentation of list item markers.
Tables are commonly used to present tabular data.
CSS Box Model
CSS box model describes how elements are visually laid out on the web pages.
Margin clears an area around the border that separates it from other boxes.
The padding area is the space between the content of the element and its border.
Border of an element goes around the padding and content.
An outline is a line that is drawn just outside the border edge of the elements such as buttons, active form fields, etc., to make them stand out.
CSS cursor property used to define cursor type (i.e. mouse pointer) when the mouse moves over a certain area or, over a link on the webpage.
The overflow property specifies the behavior that occurs when an element's content overflows (doesn't fit) the element's box.
CSS dimension properties used to control the height and width of an element.
Units are used to specify non-zero length value in CSS properties.
CSS Visual Formatting
The visual formatting model typically explains how elements in the document tree are processed for visual media such as computer screen.
The display property controls the box's type generated by an element.
The visibility property determines whether an element is visible or hidden.
The position property defines how an element will be positioned on a page.
The CSS z-index property can be used in conjugation with the position property to create an effect of layers like Photoshop.
The CSS float property specifies whether a box should float or not.
CSS has several properties that can be used to align elements on web pages.
A CSS pseudo-class selector matches components based on an additional condition and not necessarily defined by the document tree.
The CSS pseudo-elements is a ways to style elements of the document that weren't explicitly defined by a position in the document tree.

CSS media types allow you to format your documents to be presented correctly on various types of media such as screen, print, an aural browser, etc.
